Thanksgiving is a national public holiday in Canada and many people have the day off work, schools and most shops are closed, except those serving tourists and drugstores.
Most Canadians would use the long weekend to visit families or friends or receive them in their own homes. There is also a special meal to eat at some point during the long weekend. Traditionally, this included roast turkey and seasonal produce, such as pumpkin, corn ears and pecan nuts. However, given the increased diversity in Canada, it may be something like roast turkey with curry sauce!
Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone! Remember there are always things to give thanks!
