GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

ALL Provincial Business Program require:

Minimum net worth
Minimum investment amount to be invested in a new/existing business
Ownership must be at least one-third (33.3%)
Language requirement
Experience in ownership or managing a business at a senior management level
Active and ongoing management of the business after purchase

ALBERTA

SELF EMPLOYER FARMER STREAM

Eligibility:

Able to invest a minimum of CAD$500,000 of equity in a primary production farming business in Alberta to develop a sustainable farming operation
Minimum net worth of CAD$500,000
Farm Management Skills Experience
Applications representing the best opportunity for growth relevant to Alberta’s agri-food targets will be given priority

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Entrepreneur

Eligibility:

$600,000 in personal net worth
Have more than three years of experience as an owner/manager, or more than four years as a senior Manager of a business in the last ten years
Demonstrate two years of post-secondary education, or have experience as a business owner-manager with 100% ownership for at least three of the past five years
minimum eligible personal investment of $200,000

BC PNP Entrepreneur Program – Regional Pilot

Eligibility:

$300,000 in personal net worth
minimum eligible personal investment of $100,00
Willing to invest in a participating community
Have more than three years of experience as an owner/manager, or more than four years as a senior

Manager of a business in the last ten years
Demonstrate two years of post-secondary education, or have experience as a business owner-manager with 100%

ownership for at least three of the past five years
CLB Level 4

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES

Eligibility:

A minimum of $300,000 equity to start/buy a business within the corporate boundary of Yellowknife; or $150,000 if outside

the corporate boundary of Yellowknife
A personal net worth of at least $500,000 to start/buy a business within the corporate boundary of Yellowknife; or at

least $250,000 if outside the corporate boundary of

Yellowknife
An additional $75,000 to be kept in a trust account which is refundable
A reasonable understanding and knowledge of the territory and its economy
Reasonable communication skills

NOVA SCOTIA

Eligibility:

21 years of age or older;
Possess a net worth of at least CAD$600,000
be able to invest at least CAD$150,000 to establish a business in Nova Scotia;
At least 3 years’ experience actively managing and owning a business or more than 5 years’ experience in a senior

business management role
At least CLB 5 in English or French

SASKATCHEWAN

Eligibility:

Have a minimum $500,000 in net business and personal assets.
Have a minimum of three years (in the last 10) of business management or entrepreneurial experience, and
Invest a minimum $300,000 in Regina or Saskatoon, or $200,000 in any other area of Saskatchewan

MANITOBA

Manitoba Business Investor

Eligibility:

Personal net worth of $350,000
Minimum of 3 years of successful business ownership and management experience or minimum 3 years of executive level experience as a senior manager of a business
Obtain a score of at least 60 on the Adaptability Assessment Matrix which assess the applicant on age, business knowledge, business experience, net worth, English and/or French fluency and adaptability
Minimum investment of $150,00
Make a $100,000 good-faith, refundable Deposit Agreement

NEW BRUNSWICK

NBPNP Entrepreneur

Eligibility:

be between 22 and 55
Have sufficient English and/or French to manage a business
Have, at a minimum, been awarded a high school diploma
Be able to demonstrate that they will live in and operate their business in New Brunswick
Demonstrate that they have ownership or senior management experience in at least 3 of the last 5 years and have an understanding of the business climate in New Brunswick
Have a minimum net worth of $300,000 and commit to a minimum of $125,000 investment in their business.

Furthermore, they must provide evidence they can make a

$75,000 refundable deposit

ONTARIO

Entrepreneur Stream

Eligibility:

At least three years of full-time business experience in the last five years
Your experience must be as a business owner OR as a senior manager
Must possess net worth of at least CAD$1,500,000 if the business is located within the Greater Toronto Area or CAD$800,000 if the business is outside the Greater Toronto Area. If the proposed business is in the ICT/Digital Communications sector, the net worth is CAD$800,000 regardless of proposed business location
Personal Investment of CAD$1,000,000 if the business is located within the Greater Toronto Area or CAD$500,000 if the business is outside the Greater Toronto Area. If the proposed business is in the ICT/Digital Communications sector, the investment is CAD$500,000 regardless of proposed business location
Create at least 2 permanent, full-time jobs for Canadian citizens/permanent resident

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

Business Impact Stream

Eligibility:

Personal net worth of CAD$600,000
Minimum education of high-school equivalent
Be within 21-59 years of age at the time of application
Have transferable management skills and past employment
Have scored a minimum band score of 4.0 on the IELTS.
Sign an Escrow Agreement containing stipulations on a deposit of $200,000 to be held by the province until the terms of the agreement have been meet
Minimum of CAD$150,000 investment into a new or existing Prince Edward Island owned and operated business.

YUKON

YUKON BUSINESS IMMIGRATION

Eligibility:

Have achieved a minimum score of fifty-six (56) on the Nominee Assessment Grid whose points are awarded based on personal net worth, age, education, etc.
Level 6 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Level 4 in the Test d’Évaluation de Francais (TEF)
Have relevant entrepreneurial or business management experience.
Have a minimum net worth of CAD$250,000
Have a minimum CAD$150,000 in liquid assets (cash, bonds, cash derivatives etc.)
